ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people and is when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Waking up on New Year, everybody dresses up. First they extend greetings to their parents. Then each child will get money as a New Year gift, wrapped up in red paper. People in northern China will eat jiaozi, or dumplings, for breakfast, as they think "jiaozi" in sound means "bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new".
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">That Chinese people pay more attention to be polite, while it is different from other countries .And chinese culture is brilliant and they know how to use a brush to write
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Now dragon is the symbol of the whole Chinese people.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Dragon is a animal worshipped by the Chinese people from the time immemorial. But what is it? No one knows.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Some people think that the Yanzi crocodile is the archetype of the dragon. However, most people hold that dragon is a combination of many animals. And the abilities of those animals have been collected to it. Wang Chong, once pointed that the horn of dragon liked deer's one, the head liked camel's one, the eyes liked rabbit's one, the neck liked snake's one, the talon liked eagle's one, the palm liked tiger's one and the ear liked cattle's one.

ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Dear Judges and Friends,
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">The topic for my speech today is “Festival.” I would like to talk about my favorite festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">In China we have several important festivals, such as the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Dragon-boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Among them, I like Mid-Autumn festival best, especially because I live in Xiamen.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">In Xiamen, when we celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival, we do not only follow the common practices such as having a big dinner party with our family, eating mooncakes, and appreciating the full moon at night, we also have one unique custom which is only practiced in Xiamen, that is “Bo Bing”.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">“Bo Bing” is a very interesting game that almost all Xiamen people play during this festival. Usually family members or close friends get together around a table with a big round bowl in the middle and six dices in the bowl. We take turns to throw the dices into the bowl. We will get different prizes accroding to the different ways the dices show their upper sides. Everyone is likely to become the champion or “Zhuangyuan” for the year. There is an element of luck and equal opportunity in this game. So people usually get excited while playing. Also, the game gives very pleasant sounds. The tinkling made by the dices falling into the bowl is pleasant, people’s laughing, cheering and applauding for the big prizes they’ve won is pleasant. All this adds greatly to the joyful atmosphere of this festival. As a kid, of course I also like the material prizes I get from the game, such as a candy or a cake.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">In this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, my family invited our foreign friends to come to our home to celebrate the Festival together. They have two children who are younger than me. While our parents were making Jiaozi together, we kids played “Bo Bing”. We bought quite some gifts to share with our guests as their prizes. They enjoyed the game and our get-together very much.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">The literal translation of “Bo Bing” is “mooncake gambling.” But actually it is not gambling, at least our family never plays it that way. For us, it is more an occasion of happy sharing and getting-together. This is why Xiamen’s Mid-Autumn Festival has become my favorite festival in the year.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Thank you very much!
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Good afternoon, dear teachers and friends!
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">I' m happy to make a speech here. Thank you for your coming. Now, the topic for my speech today is “Western Festivals.” I would like to talk about Christmas.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Christmas is originally a Christian festival, as you can see from the formation of this word, “Christ-mas.” The first part of the word refers to Jesus Christ, and the second part “mas” comes from the word “mass,” referring to a main religious ceremony in some Christian churches. At first, it was celebrated for the birth of Jesus Christ. Nowadays, although some churches still observe this festival for its religious reason, for most people, including Chinese people, Christmas has already become a day of secular celebrations, when people exchange greetings and gifts. However, it is still a biggest festival in the West. It is as important to the Westerners as the Spring Festival is to the Chinese people.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Christmas day is on the 25th of December, and Christmas Eve is of course the evening of the previous day, the 24th December.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Christmas holiday usually lasts for two weeks, during which most schools have a Christmas break. Many families put the Christmas tree in their house, and hang many decorations on the tree. Under the tree, they usually place many Christmas presents. Giving out presents and receiving presents are what kids like best about this festival.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">On Christmas Eve, kids would put stockings at the end of their bed, wishing the Santa Claus would come and give them presents.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">As to the tradition of giving and receiving presents in Christmas, I think it has something to do with the nativity story. In the nativity story, on the birthday of baby Jesus, there was a bright star shining in the East. There were three kings in the East who saw the star, and they followed the star all the way to Bethlehem where the star stopped. They came to a manger where baby Jesus was lying. They worshiped the little baby and gave him presents. I think this is a beautiful story. It shows a spirit of sharing and love.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">I like Christmas for the presents kids will receive and for its lovely story.
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Thank you very much!
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">When clock is belling,my heart ripple along with it,to distant with you, transmit my missing,to be joyful! My dear friend!

ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">Missing are a smell of flower fragrance, inundated the mountain valley, cover your and me,and blessing are the boundless attention, overflow the eye, until the heart. We hugging and listening the new year'clock, just like listening the breath of annual, crowding around our same dream, making the sincerly blessing with the ture love,Happy New Year!

ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">
ndent: 2em; text-align: left;">In the end of the year, people held many activities to celebrate and welcome the New Year. In my school, we held a New Year party every year. Students like taking part in it very much, because it is really funny. This year, I dance with my classmates. We prepare for it a month ago. Our teacher helps us a lot. We work very hard to dance it well. Now, tomorrow is the party time. I am sure we will be great in the party.
